Q. Who is eligible to apply for the Foundation Scholarships?
A. ANY MEMBER OF BLACK GIRL BEAUTY FOUNDATION, NATIONAL BLACK COSMETOLOGY ASSOCIATION OR NATIONAL ALLIANCE OF BLACK GIRL BEAUTY FOUNDATION MAY APPLY FOR OUR SCHOLARSHIPS.
To be considered applicant must be free or paid member and must meet all of the following requirements:

• Notifications are sent to recipients and applicants not selected to receive an award via email by January 30, 2023.
• Add info@manigaultministries.org to your email address book or “safe senders list” to
ensure these important emails are not sent to your junk mail folder. All applicants will be notified by email of their status by January 30, 2023. After 2023, applicants are notified by email of their status by the last day of October of each year.
• Do not ‘opt out’ of any email sent from the above email. You may not receive vital information regarding your scholarship applications.
Note: Your email address will only be used to communicate with you about your scholarship applications or other opportunities administered by Amanda Manigault, Uniquia Manigault or Scholarship Monitoring Co. for which you may be eligible to apply. We will not provide your email address to any third parties.

- Be a member of National Alliance Black Girl Beauty FB Group or National Black Cosmetology Association FB Group
- Follow all Black Girl Beauty Social Media Platforms
- Be an African-American female.
- Be at least a 12-18 yrs old.
- No exceptions will be made.
- Lodging is not included in this scholarship. Applicant may, but does not have to live in the state of Georgia.

Q. What are the selection criteria?
- The (NABGB) scholarship committee will evaluate the applications and select the recipients considering:
• Essay and/or video content
Decisions of the selection committees are final and are not subject to appeal. No application feedback will be given.
- A total of 6 (Full) Scholarships will be awarded in 2023 for the cosmetology program.
- A total of 6 (Full) Scholarships will be awarded in 2023 for the hair braiding program.
- A total of 12 (Full) Scholarships will be awarded in the 2023 BAST after-school program.
- A total of 12 (Full) Scholarships will be awarded in the 2023 BAST summer program.
Q. What are the details of the award?
- Education will be provided by Black Girl Beauty & Barber Schools, Black Girl Beauty Performing Arts School or Black Girl Beauty Advanced Training Academy.
- Student must maintain at least a 80% attendance rate while in school.
- Full-time students must complete the program within 12 months.
- Part-time students must complete the program within 24 months.
- Student must complete Amanda Manigault's Mentorship Program (Included with all scholarships)
- Student must also commit to being employed for at least 12 months at one of Black Girl Beauty Performing Arts, Black Girl Beauty Salon-Suites & Training/Partner Companies or partner program upon completion of the program, graduation, passing the Georgia state board exam and or completing the BAST program including mentorship.
- (This scholarship guarantees job placement for 1 year)
Q. Is this scholarship renewable?
- No.
Q. Which school should I list on the application?
- This Scholarship is for you to attend Black Girl Beauty & Barber Schools, Black Girl Beauty Advanced Training or Black Girl Beauty Performing Arts School
- Complete The Amanda Manigault Mentorship Program
- Commit to 1 year Employment with one of The Black Girl Beauty Inc. and/or a partner company with Black Girl Beauty Inc.
Q. Where will classes be located?
- Classes will be located online/on campus, hybrid or with partners. Information will be sent with acceptance letter.
How do I change my college choice?
- These scholarships are to attend Black Girl Beauty & Barber Schools our Partner School. This will not update any application or acceptance forms.
Q. How do I know if my application is complete?
- Allow five to seven business days after submitting documents for your online status to update. You will receive a email confirmation with a scholarship applicant ID # and account login information. You will be able to login your account at any time to monitor your scholarship information details and status changes.
Q. How and when will I receive notification?

Q. What are my responsibilities if I am chosen as a recipient?
- You must enroll during the open enrollment period following the year in which the scholarships are awarded, continue the entire academic calendar without interruption unless approved by the scholarship sponsor.
- Deliver your signed voucher(s) to the proper office at Black Girl Beauty Foundation and notify the scholarship monitoring company should your voucher not arrive within 30 days of the issue date.
- Must maintain a 80% attendance rate and must complete the program within 12 months, if you are full-time.
- Must complete the Amanda Manigault 90 Mentorship Program included with the scholarship.
- Must maintain a 80% attendance rate and must complete the program within 24 months, if you are part-time.
- Must commit to 12 months of employment with one of the Amanda Manigault Salon Companies and/or partner companies upon graduation/passing the state exam.
Q. If I am a recipient when does the school get the money for tuition?
- Black Girl Beauty Foundation is the provider of the scholarship. We're always securing funding to provide for the cosmetology education of our recipients.
- Each recipient will receive the award letter to email address and made payable to Black Girl Beauty & Barber Schools. Typically, once you have received your award letter, the school has also been notified and in receipt of the scholarship payment.
Q. Are scholarships taxable?
- Tax laws vary by country. In the United States, scholarship funds used exclusively for the payment of tuition or textbooks are normally not taxable. The scholarship recipient is responsible for taxes, if any, that may be assessed against his or her scholarship award. We recommend consulting your tax advisor for more guidance.
